Executives
Mike Azzarello is founder and CEO of JetLimo.
With a 25 year track record in the technology and aviation fields, Mr. Azzarello brings a unique combination to the charter industry.
A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Mr. Azzarello holds degrees in Economics and History.
A private pilot with instrument rating, Mr. Azzarello is also an avid pilot.
While in college Mr. Azzarello ran his own computer consulting firm. Besides paying for school, this introduced him to the technology industry as it was undergoing a transformation by personal computers.
Mr. Azzarello started at Sperry Univac and quickly made his mark selling the new mid-range systems using AT&Ts UNIX. Shunned by many of his peers at the mainframe giant, Mr. Azzarello made a name for himself that got him promoted to the dedicated account team for The Walt Disney Co.
Mr. Azzarello then entered the world of software, working at Oracle as a District Manager and then becoming an owner of an Oracle consulting firm in Thousand Oaks California. It was as an owner and executive that Mr. Azzarello dramatically expanded his knowledge and skills as a business leader and technologist.
Mr. Azzarello sold his interest in the consulting firm in 2003 and took what he thought was a temporary position at Sun Microsystems, as he started working on his idea that would become JetLimo.
Initially, Mr. Azzarello thought he would apply for a patent and see what interest he could find to license it. As Mr. Azzarello saw the different approaches being taken by companies to address the shared charter industry, Mr. Azzarello realized he had a better business model, in addition to a technical advantage.
In early 2008 Mr. Azzarello successfully raised Angel investment capital to start development of the system.
The company launched the service in March 2009.
